All Stars players connect with Waikato ahead of 2026 fixture
Kirikiriroa Hamilton welcomed three NRL Harvey Norman All Stars players today as part of the build-up to the 2026 fixture and the launch of public ticket sales.
Maaori players Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad and Harata Butler, Indigenous player Grace Kemp spent the morning at Victoria on the River, sharing their anticipation for the event’s return to Aotearoa and reflecting on the cultural identity central to the All Stars concept.
The 2026 fixture marks only the second time the event has been held in Aotearoa New Zealand, highlighting the significance of Hamilton being selected as host city.
This year’s programme will be held at FMG Stadium Waikato, featuring the women’s and men’s Maaori and Indigenous teams, along with Maaori and Indigenous Touch Football teams. The event celebrates heritage, connection and community across both nations.
Sean Murray, Destinations Group General Manager at Hamilton City Council, says the occasion aligns strongly with Hamilton’s strengths as a major events city.
“The All Stars holds a unique place in the rugby league calendar and securing it for Hamilton is a significant opportunity for our region. Today’s visit reinforced the strong cultural connection between the event and our community.
“FMG Stadium Waikato is well positioned to deliver a high-quality experience, and we look forward to welcoming both teams and supporters in February.”
General public tickets for the 2026 Harvey Norman All Stars go on sale at 5pm today (12 December) at Ticketek.
