Hamilton scores Silver Ferns triple showdown

Netball fans are in for a blockbuster week of international sport in Hamilton, with the Silver Ferns set to take over Claudelands Arena for three matches this November.

The Silver Ferns will take on Net Blacks NZ men’s team on Tuesday 17, Thursday 19, and Saturday 21 November as part of the 2026 WM New Zealand Netball Series.

The series comes at the end of a standout year for the Commonwealth Games champion Silver Ferns and forms part of their build-up to the 2027 Netball World Cup.

Mayor Tim Macindoe is excited by the prospect of giving Hamiltonians the experience of big sporting moments close to home.

“Hosting the Silver Ferns here in Hamilton is a real vote of confidence in our city and in Claudelands as a venue for top-level sport. Events like this bring people into the central city, support local businesses, and give our community the chance to enjoy world-class netball right on their doorstep.”

Ben Slatter, Claudelands Events Centre Director, said their venue is ideal for these matches.

“Hamilton has long been a home of netball in New Zealand, so hosting the Silver Ferns at Claudelands is a natural fit.

"As the sport continues to grow, creating a great event experience becomes even more important. The right venue can make all the difference for players, supporters and new fans.

"Claudelands Arena has the atmosphere, proven experience, and facilities to bring loyal and new fans together.”

The Silver Ferns last played at Claudelands in their Constellation Cup match in October 2025 where they triumphed over Australia, 61 to 52.

Tickets for the 2026 WM New Zealand Netball Series Hamilton games go on sale later this month, with pre-sales opening on Monday 21 September and public sales beginning on Tuesday 22 September. The matches will also be broadcast on Sky.
