Seddon Park welcomes 2024 with a sell-out
Seddon Park welcomed back passionate fans through their gates on Sunday, 14 January 2024 as fans flocked to the boutique grounds to see BLACKCAPS and Pakistan in action.
With both teams playing only their second match of the Pakistan Tour of New Zealand 2023-24 Twenty20 International (T20I) tournament, fans were eager to show their support and secure a prime viewing position on the venue's tree-lined grassy banks.
Pakistan won the toss and elected the BLACKCAPS to bat first, setting a target of 194 runs for Pakistan to chase. Pakistan challenged the BLACKCAPS, but ultimately fell short, scoring 173 runs, with the BLACKCAPS winning by 21 runs. This match was a fantastic showcase of cricketing talent, and the perfect international match to kick-off 2024 at Seddon Park.
H3’s Turf Manager, Karl Johnson says... “With both domestic and international cricket underway we are stoked with the response from fans, we are very proud to welcome so many devoted supporters to Seddon Park. Turf doesn’t know it’s Christmas break, so our H3 Turf team have been working hard throughout the holidays to ensure the pitch is in perfect condition. Massive thank you to our H3 Turf team for their dedication and commitment, it’s truly worth it when you see a packed-out venue on game day.”
BLACKCAPS return to Seddon Park on the 13 - 17 February 2024, playing South Africa in their second test match of the South Africa Tour of New Zealand 2023-24. You can purchase your tickets and find out more information HERE.
